Dr. Ajere G (2006; Sociology of Education) posits that some of the social vices, moral decadence and youth violence common in the Nigerian society today are due to the fact that Nigerian schools emphasize certificate acquisition rather than ethics and morals like honesty, patriotism, loyalty, modesty and obedience.
Our ‘being civil clubs’ are intended to contribute to fulfilling SDG target 4.7 by helping pupils in Nigerian primary schools acquire knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development, culture, peace, global citizenship, non-violence, appreciation for cultural diversity, amongst others.
